Pain in knee 6 yrold: 6 years old pain in knee front or back, the commenest cause is growing pains or pain related to all day physical activities.Try over the counter pain meds and if it continues inspite of that then see your pediatrician.

Orthopaedic evaluate: Children with knee pain deserve a thorough orthopaedic evaluation if the pain lasts more than a few days and certainly if there is pain while at rest during the night. Your child's pain is most likely a mild strain, but only a thorough musculoskeletal examination will answer this question with more certainty.
