Need followup: Hpv can cause precancerous changes of the cervix, but your body can also clear it out and have no problem. Since you have a normal pap smear now, there is no problem so far. It's generally recommended that you have repeat testing in 1 year. Cervical cancer takes many years to develop, so as long as you don't ignore this, it will never become cancer.
