No: At least not immediately. The pain must be caused by a bacterial infection. Then it will take two days before the the antibiotic can begin to reduce the infection. The source of your pain is more likely inflammation from the mechanical treatment of the tooth. For this you need an anti inflammatory agent like motrin. If pain is great you can also take tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain at the same time.

Depends: Only the dr who performed the procedure can answer definitively.If the pulp was infected, yes. If inflamed, then no. Anti inflammatories are better here.
