A member asked:

I'm in hospital. x-ray said impacted bowel. left side swelling. waiting in mri. they say structure. will see a surgeon. what operations can they do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

? stricture: From your history you seem to have some type of inflammatory bowel disease. The stricture may be a result of this disease process. Often the surgery is a segmental resection. However, if you have crohn's disease, this may cause the disease to become involved in the area of bowel adjacent to the resected tissue.
