Muscle weakness: True muscle weakness (not just weakness secondary to pain). Oral anti-inflammatories, a cervical epidural steroid injection (or two) and possibly physical therapy should be tried first unless there is clear muscle weakness in the C6 muscles (wrist extension weakness). Most cervical radiculopathy cases resolve on their own in 4-6 weeks.
