Recurrent UTI's: Looks like you developed two urinary tract infections with the same microorganism within last four months. The problem may be related to either reinfection or persistent infection due to either not sufficient antibiotic treatment or anatomical problem. I would have your physician review your urine culture results and perhaps ask for further evaluation.

Urine cultures: You mentioned a bowel resection prior, and on recent antibiotics. Frequently this can cause changes in normal bowel flora and make a contaminated urine culture seem positive if not under appropriate symptoms. As we get older, can lose bladder tone and not completely empty the bladder with urination, which predisposes to uti. It is always best to stay off antibiotics if able.
