Yes,if teeth flossed: You note that you have gingivitis. Fortunately, it creates little damage and is easy to prevent to keep teeth. Gum disease is simply poor oral hygiene. Floss at least daily, preferably twice daily. Skipping days is like not flossing at all. Don't floss to remove food, floss to clean the side walls of each tooth. Toothbrushing is way overrated. If it worked you wouldn't have gum disease!
