Do you need one?: Taking a daily vitamin is usually not necessary if you have a well balanced diet. However, the development of nutritional deficiencies, even if one that eats well, if more common as we age. vitamin D and B12 are common deficiencies in older age people. Postmenopausal women generally need a calcium supplement. That being said, taking a generic multivitamin if you wish is just fine.
