Difficult problem.: It depends if it is an acute or chronic problem. Many patient with infected wisdom teeth have restricted opening due to infection. If you take antibiotics, the opening should improve. If you have a permanent decrease in opening - could be a problem. See an oral surgeon who can tell you the reason for your restricted opening. Then first you would address the restricted opening. Then the teeth.

Very common, trismus: The most common complication after wisdom tooth extraction is trismus, also called tightness in the jaw muscles. See your surgeon for post-op examination and treatment.

Post Op Instructions: Follow the oral and\or written instructions of the dentist who treated you. Call if you are unsure. Generally 30-45 minutes and replace if necessary (more than very slight oozing).

2-6 weeks, varies : Following a tooth extraction you can should generally feel a gradual improvement in your symptoms over the first 2 weeks. If you feel like the pain is getting worse it is important to see your provider for follow up. Extractions can vary greatly and will take long to heal if bone removal was required. It might also take longer if post op instructions are not followed.

Wisdom Tooth P.O.: Good day;
Always speak with practitioner after any type of surgical care; however, do not rinse around the extraction site area for 48 hours. The clot within the extraction site will not form if you aren't careful. After 2 days a chlorhexidine mouth wash is recommended around the extraction site until you may resume gentle massaging.
