HIV transmission: HIV is spread only by blood and certain other body fluids, including semen and vaginal fluid. It is not spread by casual contact and it would not be spread by using a Nix (permethrin) styptic pencil as HIV is not spread by contact with environmental surfaces that are not grossly contaminated with the fluid vehicle.
