This is a condition that requires special care and treatment for the child to have any kind of normal life. Other than that, unexplained fractures are abnormal and should raise suspicion of child abuse.

Depends: There is a diagnosis called osteogenesis imperfecta, also known as brittle bone disease. This is genetic in origin and a child is born with the condition. There are several variants ( 4 main types), but it is possible for a child to spontaneously break a bone with little to no trauma.
