No: Beta that is stable, the blood count stays low but that is the persons natural state. There are no symptoms, and no effort should be made to raise the count - that can be dangerous. But please see a hematologist with your child to be sure that this is really beta thal and not one of the more unusual blood conditions that mimic it.
