Hypophosphatemia: Neocate formula (according to an article in the Journal "Bone" 2017 has been associated with hypophosphatemia (low phosphate) and may be causing low bone density which can lead to fractures, ricketts, deformities and stunted growth. Additional studies at Yale and Mayo Clinic confirmed that the type of phosphate used in this formula is poorly absorbed. Supplemental Phosphate relieves the problem.
