A member asked:

Can you tell me if i could force doctor to perform tonsillectomy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Strange question: Of course you can not force a doctor to perform surgery of any type, if he thinks it is not indicated. That would be litiginous. There are two major indications for a tonsillectomy and if they are not present then no surgery is indicated. If these indications are present then see another ENT doc. Indications: documented recurrent acute tonsillitis; enlarged tonsils causing a sleep disorder.
