Could dental bands be used to close small gaps in teeth?

Dental bands?: I am not sure what you mean about using bands to close spaces. However, there are numerous way to close gaps or spaces between your teeth. Of course orthodontics can be used to align and close teeth together whether it is traditional or invisalign. We can simply use dental bonding (resin) to add to teeth and close spaces. Veneers and crowns can be used to change the shape of teeth, too.

Don't go there!: Dental bands, the little rubber bands that are usually used in conjunction with fixed orthodontics (braces) do have the capability to close small gaps. Though any continuous pressure on your teeth can cause movement. However, placing an un-stabilized rubber band around your teeth can cause root resorption damage. It can also slide into the gum and cause bone and / or tooth loss. Very dangerous!
