A member asked:

What structures run in the free margin of the mesentery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"Random": The mesentery is the tissue connected to the intestine thru which the blood vessels, lymphatics, lymph nodes, nerves, etc. Reside. The mesentery attaches the intestine to the back-wall of the abdominal cavity--there is no "free" margin, unless a portion of the intestine is surgically removed. The pathologists then look at this edge and tell us what is present. I hope this is what u were looking4.
