Good sleep hygiene: Good sleep hygiene is the best aid by far. This includes a routine to get to bed, no daytime napping, no alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, virgorous exercise, bright lights, or electronics use (computer, smart phone, tv, etc) before bedtime, and sleeping and waking up at the same time every day of the week. If you have insomnia, it is recommended to see a sleep medicine specialist to help overcome it.
