Probable correct: The ribs of the chest wall all converge on the breast bone or sternum. The actual attachment for the ribs which end 1-2 inches from the breast bone is a rib shaped segment of cartilage called the costo chondral junction. When this becomes inflamed, it is painful and bulges in that local area. Anti inflammatories can help
