Excision: Incision is carried out over the cyst, it is freed from surrounding tissues and dissection is carried down to the joint capsule so the neck of the ganglion extending into the joint may be removed. The joint capsule may be windowed to prevent recurrence in some cases. It is usually done under IV regional anesthetic block. You are splinted following the procedure.
