US or CTA: Duplex Ultrasound (US) is usually used for diagnosis of upper or lowe extremity venous blood clots. CT angiogram is used for diagnosis of venous blood clots in abdomen, chest or brain. VQ scan is an alternative to CT angiogram for diagnosis of blood clots in pulmonary veins.
