Supportive measures: The flu shot is composed of dead viral particles so you can not get the flu from the shot. However you may feel some minor flu like symptoms joint ache, eye ache, headache, low fever best thing to do is drink fluids and pain relievers like tylenol, (acetaminophen) Motrin provided you do not have any contraindication to taking these medications.

This year's flu shot: is a piece of cake. Tylenol (acetaminophen) or a NSAID if in pain. I sometimes use small acupuncture needles for a painful shot - which I don't consider the flu shot to be.
