Maybe: Flu shots are indicated for people who are at risk of dying if they get the flu - cancer patients, HIV or lung disease patients. However, for young people the answer is "maybe". The shot can make you ill and even if you take it, you can still get the flu. Your mother got serious ill from the flu shot. So, do see her doctor. If she could tolerate a flu, maybe she doesn't. Need it. Peter wilk, md.
