Typical young couple. what are our odds of infertility?

About 1 in 6 couples: Infertility (not get pregnant after trying for a year) affects about 1 in 6 couples or 15%. For most young couples, under 35, it is ok to try for a year before seeing a fertility dr. (reproductive endocrinologist / infertility md or rei). If there is an obvious problem (irregular cycles, history of pelvic inflammatory disease or endometriosis) even young couples should get an evaluation sooner.
