Echocardiogram: Trivial mitral valve insufficiency is a common, insignificant finding on echocardiograms in healthy people and is ignored as a cause of symptoms including dysautonomia. Mitral valve prolapse, while often without symptoms, may cause disorders of heart rhythm. If your echo showed mvp you may be having palpitations from it. Your physician would know best as he/she examined you and has the test results.
