Strain: You may be straining your pectoral muscles by lifting with poor technique and not letting your legs bear some of the burden. If these pectoral muscles are strained, you would notice them to hurt with certain motions and they probably would be somewhat tender. If you get chest pains with nonlifting exertion however, discuss this with your physician. I doubt you're having any heart symptoms.
