Cancer anywhere in the body can lead to unexplained weight loss usually due to loss of appetite.Gastric cancer can cause one of many symptoms like nausea, weight loss and sometimes pain but only when it is large and starting to obstruct the gastric outlet.

So in cases of gastric cancer caused by H. pylori, the H. pylori tends to still be present at the cancer stage. And a UBT would test for it.
