A member asked:

I have to have an ultrasound to verify that i have a stone in my left kidney. if i do what might the treatment be to treat a stone inside the kidney?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Stones: That are small and non obstructing may not need treatment at all. If treatment is required, it can usually be done with an instrument called a ureteroscope and a laser fiber passed through the scope to break up the stone. There are also machines that can break up the stones from outside the body.
