A member asked:

Just had mri w/contrast in left shoulder. is it normal for pain to be worse after an mri? contrast was injected directly into joint.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not from an ordinary: Sounds like you had an MRI arthrogram. Injecting contrast in joint may cause some pain from the injection, needle stick, or joint distension. Shold only last for a short time however.
