Antibiotics/pregnant: Several epidemiologic studies indicate no increased risk of congenital anomalies associated with low dose exposure to fluconazole. Metronidazole gel is not likely to affect the fetus, but cannot find any controlled studies. Oral doses cross the placental barrier. There was no evidence of harm to the fetus due to metronidazole. Suspect your baby will be just fine.
