A member asked:

I have had lymphadenopathy for 3 years. blood work was normal and doctors said they felt okay because they are moveable and <2 cm. what's the cause?

Impossible to say: There are numerous causes for enlarged lymph nodes. Without knowing the results of the testing done in your case, it is impossible to be specific. However, if multiple doctors found no real issue, i would accept that.

Cannot tell: Here. The prospects include infection, drug reaction and malignancy. Size and mobility suggest no rush. Duration suggests malignancy less likely. Decision is whether and when to excisionally biopsy a node. Thin needle is an option that I do not favor.

More info needed: Depends on where the nodes are and if they have changed. Was a chest x-ray done? What kind of blood work was done?--viral studies? Good luck.
