It depends: This happens usually due to environmental allergy to pollen, dust or cold. Please try to find that and you can avoid them once you know.

Early cold: If you start with early cold symptoms (which can be confusing with allergies), start nasal saline irrigations. Neilmed sinus rinse is a great product, though many others are commercially available. I would do them at least 3x a day for the next several days. Controlling underlying allergies can bring down inflammation as well. Now nasacort (triamcinolone) is otc, use 2 sprays each nostril daily. Best of luck.
