It depends: Usually physicians give you a follow up appointment to discuss the finings but if your finding is serious and need prompt attention then they need to find health care proxy or wait until you are awake.

Common sense: If it is known you are still drowsy, instructions can be given to your loved one or caregiver (if allowed to by your hippa signed declaration). Instructions are often written as well, and may even be given before the procedure when you are not groggy.
