Sprain: Yes rest and ice. But i would not return to same activity or gym machine without being cleared for participation by your primary provider first.

Yes: For a neck sprain after a workout, I do think it would be reasonable to try conservatively with time/observation, ice, anti-inflammatories, and gentle stretches/rom. If your symptoms are persistent after a week or two, or if the pain is really severe, or if there is associated radiation of the pain into your arm or weakness/numbness/tingling in your arm, then i would advise seeing a physician.
