Drink , Drink, Drink: There is almost no too much. We and our children should be drinking often every day. A good amount is about a quart per day. Your body loves to be well hydrated!

Thirsty: Thirst is the best gauge as to proper fluid intake. Most foods are high in fluid content, especially fruits and veggies. A drink with most meals, probably milk though if there is dairy in other ways it's not necessary, and fluid available through the day is likely fine. If urine is more clear than yellow, then you're doing fine.

Not to focus: As long as the kid is making pee every 6-8 hours or so and functions well, there is no need to focus on a water or fluid intake goal.
