No explanation: No matter which nerve in the region of the buttock may have been penetrated it would have no connection to any hand pain or right upper extremity discomfort. Those would be unrelated issues to the injection.

To: Hit a nerve, he would have to go on the wrong quadrant and quite deep. Even if nerve was hit, will not explain the arm symptoms. Go get evaluated.
