Will overactive thyroid hurt the baby?

Over time: It wall cause some damage, depending upon the length of time and degree of overactivity. It's like trying to drive your car with the gas pedal pressed down all the time; the machinery wears out sooner than expected. It's easy to treat with either radioiodine or anti-thyroid drugs. Why not check with your doctor and make sure it's being treated properly to avoid the risks.

Thyroid: I am assuming you already have your baby - congrats and enjoy. If your overactive thyroid is being treated with medicine you won't hurt your baby. If you have been treated with radio-active iodine within the last week you should be using a different lavatory from your baby. If you have had radio-active iodine longer than a week ago your baby should not be affected.
