A member asked:

I have scoliosis(5 years)and i visited the doctor twice to do x-ray, but for some economic problems can't do the surgery, how can effect my health?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Scoliosis: Scoliosis is a curvature of the spine. Nonoperative treatments include bracing, physical therapy and occupational therapy to reduce or slow the rate of curvature. In general, when the curve becomes greater than 45 degrees surgery is performed to correct the scoliosis. Untreated, scoliosis can cause lung and heart problems. Muscle and joint problems will limit daily activities too.
