Not exactly : Just like you can use wood to build many different styles of houses, but you would not consider a pile of wood and a house to be the same thing, you use Amino acids to build proteins. Depending on which amino acids are present and how they are combined you get different proteins. Amino acids are the simpler building blocks of more complex proteins.
