This is serious: Infection after insertion of hardware can mean the hardware must be removed, leaving your fracture in a bad position. A bone infection puts your entire leg at risk. You'll need IV antibiotics and perhaps even more surgery. Please discuss this with your surgeon asap.

See surgeon NOW: Infection in a joint is serious. You need IV antibiotic and possibly more surgery to remove hardware. If left untreated could cause loss of leg or life.
