Avoid allergens: It depends on the underlying cause and the severity of the symptoms. Avoiding the allergen triggering the symptoms and if you are pollen allergic, closing the windows may help. Saline rinses of the nasal passages and eyes will help remove any dust or pollen that may be triggers of your allergic symptoms. Asthma is treated with medications prescribed by your doctor, but avoiding triggers can help.

Environmental: removing or limiting indoor allergens is the key. Remove rugs (if possible or use HEPA filter vacuum. Cover mattresses with dust mite barrier covers. Smoke from tobacco, fireplaces,etc can also be a cause. Know your triggers and try to minimize your exposure. These are the best things you ca do. Good Luck
