Specializes in Pharmacy

Yes: There is much research being done in the field of asthma including understanding the mechanisms, lung damage, etc. Right now we are limited in medications. What you see are variations of a few classes of drugs. They all work well when used correctly and conscientiously. It is not likely you can get rid of your asthma but it can be controlled. Talk over any concerns you have with your physician.

Yes!!: It is difficult to "get rid" of asthma, but there are several excellent treatments for both asthma and allergies. In addition to common medications used, you might also be a candidate for xolair, or maybe even allergy shots. See a board-certified allergist!
