A member asked:

What risks are involved with a laryngoscopy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not much: For awake: nosebleed, discomfort, choking during, numbness of throat after for asleep under anesthesia: damage to lips/tongue/teeth, sore tongue, altered taste for <=6 weeks you should talk to the person who's offering this procedure to you so you understand it before you get it done. For the awake one, we do it so commonly that we don't sign a written consent in most hospitals/offices.
