See your surgeon!: If you have an abscess, it must be drained. If it has been drained, and you are having pain from the drain, that will improve as the abscess resolves. I am assuming if you know you have an abscess, someone is treating it. Abscesses (an infected fluid collection) are painful, but that usually improves with drainage and antibiotics.
