Please tell me what are some reasons a neurologist could misdiagnosis multiple sclerosis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not rare: Many disorders can mimic ms, and in view of confusion, have seen several cases which were frankly challenging. Cadasil, sjogren's, lupus, lyme disease, clippers, neuromyelitis optica, pernicious anemia, syphilis, sarcoidosis, and aids, are just some of the conditions which may create difficulty. This in part, explains why many neurologists refer to ms sub specialists at times.
