Weight loss is...: Of course, you need to lower calories somewhat to lose weight. It's also important to eat a diet that is low in sugars, starches, and grains. Get plenty of vegetables. Fruit should be kept low if you are quite overweight and/or have a lot of trouble shedding weight. A mediterranean diet modified by reducing or removing grains and fruits is a good basic idea.
