Local care: The pain is most likely due to an inflammation of the vein following the needle sticks or to irritation of the tissue around the vein. Either way, this is a localized process and you should treat it with wet warm compresses and Ibuprofen orally. This should resolve within 5 days with this treatment. If no improvement then see your medical doctor.
