You're fine: Both your arteries and veins have blood in them. Blood is usually drawn from the veins. The nurse may have thought she was in the vein, but apparently she was not.

Have MD draw blood.: There are many options for drawing blood if it cannot be taken from the routine areas. This occurs periodically with children, with adults with no veins and in a trauma setting. The options would be to hydrate and warm the person and re-evaluate. Next try using a vein lite or syris head light to find the veins with ultrasound. The problem is not you. You need an experienced phlebologist.
