A member asked:

Is it possible to have iud removal during a non-gyn emergency?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: EM physicians will not generally do elective procedures like IUD removal in the ED. There are just too many patients and too many unknowns in the waiting room coming in via EMS to do something like that. However, if you go to a small ED at a time when there are few patients, the doc MAY do it for you, but I wouldn't plan on it.
