Both powerful.: They are different b/c Ambien (zolpidem) is a sedative/hypnotic and Soma is a muscle relaxant. They can both cause drowsiness but are used for different purposes. Both can be potentially dangerous in high doses and cause respiratory cessation or coma. You can have withdrawal seizures if they are stopped abruptly after being taken in high doses.
