Cirrhosis: Cirrhosis an end stage condition of the liver is usually not reversible. Unless the initial diagnosis was incorrect, it is unlikely to be reversible without a liver transplant.

Depends: on the cause of the decompensation. its very possible. For ex: Patients with alcoholic liver disease can present acutely with alcoholic hepatitis and appear to be completely decompensated and once they recover and refrain from alcohol use they can revert to a healthy and compensated state. That does not mean they have a normal liver rather the liver is able to function as needed
